For 15 years, Jim was Vice President of product merchandising for BoatU.S., one of the largest marine equipment retail and mail order catalog companies in the US. He directed supplier negotiations with over 1000 companies, selecting over 38,000 products for a 752-page annual catalog and 62 marine retail stores. In a 35-year product marketing career, he has held every position in the product merchandising environment, including buying and field office positions in a $6 billion, 360-store national US retail chain. He has been a member of the planning committee for MAATS (Marine Accessories Aftermarket Trade Show) and the (US) National Marine Manufacturers Association's Export Steering Committee.

David specializes in the development and maintenance of international marine product distribution networks and heads Home Port's UK office. Chairman of the British Marine Federation's International Markets Committee, he has over 25 years of experience in marine products marketing throughout Europe, New Zealand, Australia and the Middle East. Prior to founding Barrow International, he was a director of Sparcraft, a leading yacht mast maker and director of sales for Ancasta Boats. An experienced yachtsman, David has been involved in the management and promotion of numerous international yachting events, including the Admirals Cup, Cowes Week and the Source International Regattas.
